This course is an entrepreneurship lecture series focused on how to build a successful consumer web company. Learn through the lens of some of the great entrepreneurs and investors in Silicon Valley, including Brian Chesky(AirBnB), Max Levchin (PayPal and Slide), Mike Arrington (Techcrunch), Drew Houston (DropBox), Tom Preston-Werner (GitHub), David Heinemeier Hansson (creator of Ruby on Rails and partner at 37Signals), and Ron Conway (legendary angel investor). Learn about being obscure and powerless, how to choose a cofounder, how to manage yourself and your own psychology as an entrepreneur, the how to's and benefits of bootstrapping, the pirate personality needed to be an entrepreneur, building a viable business to last, questioning popular startup mantras, prioritizing happiness over profit, and the characteristics of defining entrepreneurs.
