How workers get their training (Bulletin No. 2226). Washington, DC: GPO. VIII. Justification One of the major priorities of the United States is the education of the workforce. Corporate America invests well over $6 billion per year in training within the company walls. Virtually every major company has a department that is responsible for developing, purchasing, or carrying out training for skilled jobs, management training, on-the-job training, and short term training activities. Most individuals who staff these training departments are baccalaureate level persons who were educated and worked in technical or business positions. Most have neither training nor experience in the designs or delivery of instruction and seek master's degrees to develop those skills. The material presented in the course PROF 591- Corporate Training Development is designed to provide students with the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to be successful corporate trainers.
