In Spanish double negatives are acceptable and occur frequently. If one of the negatives is no, it precedes the verb. If no is omitted, the other negative must precede the verb. No oigo nada. Nada oigo. I don't hear anything. Ella no canta nunca. Ella nunca canta. She never sings. D. Nadie can be used as the subject or the object of the verb. When nadie is the object of the verb, it is preceded by the personal a. Nadie habla. No habla nadie. No one speaks. BUT No llamo a nadie. I don't call anyone (anybody). A nadie llamo. I call no one (nobody). E. Ninguno drops the final o and takes a written accent mark over the u if it comes immediately before a masculine singular noun. If a preposition comes between ninguno and the noun, the full form is used. equipo Ningn gan. No team won. Ninguno de los equipos gan. None of the teams won. Ninguna persona es perfecta.
