through AmeriCorps, Montana Campus Compact, is offering openings this fall & spring for students who 1) already volunteer in qualifying areas, 2) have qualifying work-study positions, and/or 3) will be student teaching at qualifying schools. The purpose of this program is to connect college and university students with the local community, and to empower students to serve by sharing resources, skills, knowledge, and time. So why should you join? The AmeriCorps Program offers you the opportunity to serve your community and give back through service. Through this process, you just might learn a little more about yourself and your community. And did I mention that you can earn $1,000? So, how does this all work? Students participating in the AmeriCorps Program commit to a 300 hour of term service which they have one year to complete. In 1 academic year, this breaks down to about 8 hours per week. You may finish your term of service as quickly as you wish.
