Database Phelim Systems Project Database Support for Customer Service
Description of Application Domain A new company that makes computers has seen a drastic rise in demand for their products. The company has decided to expand operations including updating their existing customer service. One way they wish to do this is to create a database linking all the information on their customers to a new database that would record the customer service cases, the product involved, the customer service employee who worked the case and the manager who reviewed the case afterwards. The employees' and managers' information would also be stored in this database. The company then would be able to tell what products were having which problems, what kind of problems they are having, how many times the same problems occur, how many customers are reporting problems, which employees worked what case, and what managers review what case.
The company would like to be able to gain the following types of information from the database: 1) How many cases an employee has worked on 2) See which managers have reviewed which employees 3) What cases a certain product is having 4) Show how many times a problem occurs 5) Find an employee with same area code
