OBSERVE ALL PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS, MIXING AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS, AND ROTATIONAL CROP RESTRICTIONS IN THE PROWL H2O LEAFLET LABEL BEFORE USING.
Follow all applicable directions, restrictions, Worker Protection Standard requirements, and precautions on the EPA-registered main product label for Prowl H20 herbicide, EPA Reg. No. 241-418. This labeling must be in the possession of the user at the time of application. DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Observe all cautions and limitations in this label and the labels of products used in combination with PROWL H2O. DO NOT use PROWL H2O other than in accordance with the instructions set forth in this label. The use of PROWL H2O not consistent with this label can result in injury to crops, animals, or persons. Keep containers closed to avoid spills and contamination. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS This product is toxic to fish. DO NOT apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Drift and runoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. DO NOT contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. GENERAL INFORMATION PROWL H2O herbicide controls most annual grasses, including annual bluegrass, and certain broadleaf weeds as they germinate, but it will not control established weeds. It may be necessary to control weeds that have germinated prior to the application of PROWL H2O with an alternative herbicide that has postemergence activity on those weeds. PROWL H2O may cause temporary injury to grass stands. Tank mixtures of PROWL H2O may result in enhanced crop injury. Diseases, extremely cold weather, drought, extensive frost heaving, low or high pH, or salinity may weaken stands and make them more susceptible to herbicidal damage. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS For application to established (6 or more tillers per plant) Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, orchardgrass, perennial ryegrass, bentgrass, fine fescue, or basin wild rye.
Apply at the beginning of significant fall rains and prior to weed germination. Uniformly apply 4.2 to 6.3 pints of PROWL H2O per acre in 10 or more gallons of water per acre with ground equipment. The higher application rate should be used where heavy weed seedling or volunteer seedling infestations are anticipated CHEMIGATION APPLICATION PROWL H2O may be applied through a sprinkler system of the following type; center pivot, lateral move, end tow, side (wheel) roll, traveler, big gun, solid set, or hand move. DO NOT apply this product through any other type of irrigation system. The system must be properly calibrated (with water only) to ensure that the amount of PROWL H2O applied corresponds to the recommended rate. Apply PROWL H2O in to inches of water during the first sprinkler set. Maintain agitation in the injection nurse tank to keep a uniform herbicide suspension during application. When application is complete, flush the system with water. Uniform distribution of PROWL H2O-treated irrigation water is the sole responsibility of the applicator and is required to avoid crop injury, lack of herbicide effectiveness, or illegal pesticide residues in the crop. If you have any questions about calibration, you should contact State Extension Service specialists, equipment manufacturers, or other experts. RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS DO NOT apply more than 6.3 pints of PROWL H2O per crop season. DO NOT apply if surface water is present. DO NOT apply when wind conditions favor spray drift. PROWL H2O are treatments most effective when adequate rainfall or overhead irrigation is received after application. Effectiveness of PROWL H2O may be increased by removal of excess straw and crop residue by such methods as crew cutting, propane flaming, or open field burning when local regulations allow. DO NOT apply this herbicide within 1 year (365 days) of harvesting grass hay. DO NOT graze livestock in treated fields within 1 year (365 days) of application. Rotational Crop Restrictions Any crop labeled for PROWL H2O preplant incorporated (PPI) use can be planted the same year without adverse effect. For PROWL H2O use rates up to 4.3 pints/acre:
Wheat may be planted 12 months following a PROWL H2O application. Other crops may be planted 18 months following an application of PROWL H2O. For PROWL H2O use rates up to 6.3 pints/acre: Crops other than sugar beets, red beets, and spinach may be planted 18 months following application. Sugar beets, red beets, and spinach may be planted 24 months after application.
WEEDS CONTROLLED PROWL H2O applied according to this label, prior to weed emergence, will control the following weeds in addition to those weeds listed on the PROWL H2O leaflet label: GRASSES Bluegrass Shattercane Wild proso millet Woolly cupgrass Rattail fescue Volunteer ryegrass Volunteer fescue BROADLEAF WEEDS Chickweed (common) Dodder Fiddleneck Henbit Knotweed (prostrate) Pennsylvania smartweed Puncturevine Shepherdspurse Velvetleaf (Buttonweed) ENDANGERED PLANT SPECIES If endangered plant species occur in proximity to the application site, the following mitigation measures are required: If applied by ground, leave untreated buffer zone of 36 feet. The product must be applied using a low boom (20 inches above the ground) and ASAE fine to medium/coarse nozzles.
