A copy of the monologue c. Answer the following questions: Nine character questions to ask yourself in order to act: Please be specific...a paragraph (at least) for every question. 1. Who am I? (Character, age, occupation, family, wealth, etc.) 2. What time is it? (Century, year, season, day, minute) 3. Where am I? (Country, neighborhood, room, etc.) 4. What surrounds me? (Animate and inanimate) 5. What is happening? (Past, present, future and events) 6. What is my relationship? (To events, characters and things) 7. What do I want? (Character, main and immediate objectives, super-task) 8. What's in my way? (Obstacles) 9. What do I do to get what I want? (Action: physical/verbal) THE SOUND DESIGNER If you choose to be the SOUND DESIGNER: 1. Choose a play 2. Read the whole play 3. Turn in to me on 4/28: (in a folder or binder) a. 1 page summary of play (be complete) b. with CD at least 10 tracks (can be music or sound effects) c. A description of each track (artist...etc) d. 1 page summary of concept: why you chose the music (i.e. how it fits the mood of the play) and where it goes in the play (pre-show, during the play, intermission, post-show) THE COSTUME DESIGNER If you choose to be the COSTUME DESIGNER: 1. Choose a play (must have at least 4 characters) 2. Read the whole play 3. Turn in to me on 4/28: a. 1 page summary of play (be complete) b. 1 page summary of concept (major ideas), time period, why you chose what you chose c. Drawings/pictures of costumes for at least 3 characters (displayed neatly and creatively, on posterboard, in a binder, etc) d.
