Kuntal Patel African-American Studies Donnetrice Allison 04/29/2008 Film Analysis (Extra Credit) hotel rwanda A film hotel rwanda released on 4th February 2005 in USA. The film was written by Keir Pearson and Terry George. It is the historical drama film base on true story. Film directed by Terry George. This film was nominated for three academy awards. Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay, because it was the great movie about the true event which was occurred on 1994 in African country Rwanda. Movie has story about two rival groups of Rwanda Hutus and Tutsis. Who were fought against each other after the president of Rwanda Habyarimana was killed. My favorite scene of the movie is end of the movie. When Paul Rusesbagian was locked his hotel and went to the safe place with UN military. That was a happy ending scene of the movie. My least favorite scene of the movie is, when Paul Rusesabagiana and his hotel employer went to meet his friend George gunda. When they rich to the place to meet George gunda. On that place Paul looking around. And he is looking the Hutus gang people hurts the Tutsis woman. They naked those woman and put in the prison. I really hate that scene in the movie they behave with those women like jerks. They were using those women like an animal. After that scene when Paul bought the groceries and coming back to return his hotel, he saw the lots of peoples dead body on the street. That scene was also terrible in the movie. Yes, film portrays a lot of stereotypical images. While I was watching movie, I felt that it is not a film. The film were seems real that we can feel, it was suit on the time of that event. Film covers all the detail part of those movements. The over all film is very good film about the true event. The film shows how one man can change the course of history. Film is all about the fighting between two groups Hutus and Tutsis in African country Rwandan a man named Rusesabagian who is Hutu and his wife was Tutsi therefore they are from two different groups. During the fight between two groups he was trying hard to save his family. He was the manger of the hotel rwanda . He stayed in hotel with his family and he was trying to protect all the people who were got homeless during the crisis. Therefore the movie shows that one man's passion and courage saved many peoples lives. I really enjoyed the film. I really liked that film because I was not aware the situating of African country Rwanda on 1994. But film shows all the details what were happened at that time. The movie gave me a passion to do something good for the word and my community. Overall this movie is based on true story and very interesting movie; I enjoyed my self to watch that movie.
