Assignment 2 I keyur home page I plan 211 home page This page documents the photographs and GIS maps that I accumulated for the Belmont neighborhood PDF Site Aerial PDF Study Buildings PDF Study Buildings Zoom Neighborhood Picture Neighborhood Picture Building 1 East Elevation Building 1 North Elevation Lot 5 image processing i intention to take the digital images recorded from the belmont neighborhood, and transform and edit them using adobe before photoshop so that they could be used in a graphic publication. keyur shah after method process i & began this assignment by taking each image and cropping and adjusting it so it was level and would read well. then, with the brick building, i used the clone stamp tool and copied and pasted items to eradicate unsightly elements. i also adjusted the brightness/contrast as well as filtered the image with a warm photo filter. this made the building appear softer and also before adjusted for a cleaner looking sky. in the white single family house, i used many of the same techniques as in the previous. however, i did use the blur and burn tool to help soften up certain edges. for example, after getting rid of the tree, i had to make the edges of the building not pop out as much and blend in with the background. i also added plants and modified their appearance with the burn tool. after digital technology adobe photoshop image processing ii intention to create a poster of the belmont neighborhood that uses multiple layers and techniques to convey information. to create a poster that explores how the sidewalks of belmont create community and areas that are conducive to interaction. keyur shah method & process i first constructed my background image from an aerial gis image. i took the image and put it through multiple photoshop filters to produce the desired result. the glowing edges filter made the image much more dynamic and gave it the neon effect. i also created an underlay for the background that effectively highlighted the region of belmont that i was working in. i then placed a white rectangle that i modified the opacity of to act as a banner through the middle of the poster. then i placed my significant images on this banner to tie them all together. in order to balance the composition, i added an additional black and white gis aerial on the bottom right of the page. digital technology adobe photoshop modeling a building in an urban setting intention to create a 3d model of a building in the belmont neighborhood using sketchup. keyur shah method & process i familiarized myself with sketchup through this process. i began with the footprint of the building and worked my way up. after i extruded the basic geometry, i added the details to the building. For instance, i added windows and doors as well as objects like trees and railings. Then, i placed textures in the model. For the building faces, i used the photograph seen below to map these on faces in the model. i had to also manipulate brick colors to match the areas where i did not map on textures from the photograph. i also matched the day lighting from the time that the picture was taken. digital technology sketchup and adobe photoshop photograph thematic mapping intention to use arcgis and arcscene to create thematic maps that represent characteristics of the 25 - 34 year old age range in the belmont neighborhood. keyur shah method & process upon visiting the belmont neighborhood, i saw many young people and families in the area. i tried to reinforce this initial observation ...
