decided I to choose a child from my moms preschool class for the reading interest inventory. My mom chose Keely, one of the four year olds, for me to use because she is one of the smartest students in her class. While my mom was reading a book to the class, I brought Keely to the back of the room. I asked her if she would help me with some of my homework, and she said that she would. As I was asking her the questions, she said that she wanted to write on the paper too. I told her that after I finished asking her all of the questions, she could draw on the back. I learned a lot about Keely while I was asking her the questions. Keely has one older sister named Avery. I asked her if she had any brothers, and she said that she had two dogs named Toby and Spot. She said her mom told her that they were her brothers. Keelys favorite game to play is Duck, Duck, Goose. I think she must have said that because the class played it that day. She told me that her favorite food was apples, grapes, and strawberries. Her favorite animal is a bunny rabbit. Keely likes to watch Spiderman and Dora, the Explorer. Next, I asked Keely if she could have three wishes, what would they be. She said that she did not want to get rid of her new puppy, Spot. Later, I asked my mom about it, and she said that they were going to have to get rid of the dog, but they decided not to. Keelys second wish is to have more books at home. Her third wish is to have a boat. After school, Keely likes to play with her flute and go outside. Her favorite subject in school is art. Since she cannot read yet, I asked her if she likes it when people read to her. She said that she likes it when Avery reads to her. Keely said that she does not have many books at home, but she does have Old MacDonald. When I asked her what her favorite book was, she asked if she could tell me her favorite song instead. After I told her that she could, she replied, like I the Red Song, and started singing the song. After reviewing the answers that Keely gave me, I started researching books and found five that she might like. Since she said that she likes watching Dora, the Explorer, I recommend Doras School Day by Emily Sollinger. This is a board book about Doras first day at school. I also recommend The Berenstain Bears New Pup by Stan and Jan Berenstain. This book is about a new puppy that the Berenstain bears get that makes a mess of things. I think that Keely could relate to this book because she has a new puppy that keeps getting into things also. The third book that I think she would like is The ABC Bunny by Wanda Gag. I think that she would like this book since her favorite animal is a bunny. Next, I recommend Duck, Duck, Goose!: A Coyotes on the Loose! By Karen Beaumont. This book is about a bunch of farm animals who think that a coyote is after them. At the end of the book, they find out that it is only a dirty bunny who is looking for some friends. Keely would like this book because she likes bunnies, the book Old MacDonald which also has farm animals, and she likes to play Duck, Duck, G...
