of Constitution World Echoes Article I: Name of Organization
Our organization is World Echoes, abbreviated as WE.
Article II: Statement of Purpose
To provide the University of North Texas community with an opportunity for interpersonal interaction with a variety of cultures, further enriching their college experience and to increase awareness of global issues, preparing students for success in diverse environments. This constitution is to go into effect upon being voted in by a simple majority of the assembly of WE members with the first elections to take place at the beginning of the following fall semester.
Article III: Eligibility for Membership
Our organization is open to all UNT students. Members are to pay an annual membership fee as determined by the Treasurer of WE. Honorary Members may be invited to join each semester at the discretion of the President.
Article IV: Establishment of Administration
Section 1. The organizational structure of WE is to consist of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Administrative Director, Standing Coordinators, and Event Coordinators. Section 2. Yearly elections by the members of WE are to take place for the offices of President, Treasurer, and Administrative Director and are to be provided and advertised for by the standing administration, specifically the standing president, and are to take place within a two-week period of the beginning of the fall semester. Any time an elected officer is removed the elections are to be held within a two-week period of the removal.
Article V: Office of the President of WE
Section 1. President is to be elected by a simple majority of the assembly of WE members for a term of one year. Section 2. Presidential powers and duties are as follows: a. to represent WE to the UNT community b. to insure that our organization fulfills university requirements and that the position of Faculty advisor is filled c. to hold and preside over meetings to take place at least twice during fall and spring semesters and once during Summer I and II d. to coordinate WE recruiting efforts to increase the membership of WE e. to make decision on the events to be put up/ coordinated by WE f. to appoint the Vice-President g. to exercise checking power over the Administrative Director with the possibility of removal on the grounds of non-attendance to the director's duties that are outlined in Article IV, section 2 of this constitution h. to appoint Standing Coordinators i. to have access to WE bank accounts in the absence of Treasurer of WE
Article VI: Office of the Vice-President of WE
Section 1. Vice-President is to be appointed by the elected President of WE for a term of one year with a possibility of removal on the grounds of non-attendance to VicePresidential duties that are outlined in the following section. Removal is at the discretion of the President. Section 2. Vice-Presidential powers and duties are as follows: a. to participate in the event planning b. to implement ideas put forth by the president
c. to appoint Event Coordinators d. provide support and council to the President
Article VII: Office of the Treasurer of WE
Section 1. Treasurer is to be elected by a simple majority of the assembly of WE members for a term of one year. Section 2. Treasurer's powers and duties as are follows: a. to be the keeper of WE financial accounts and records b. to have access to WE bank accounts c. to collect money for events held by WE d. to determine and collect annual membership fees e. to produce a mandatory monthly written financial report or at any time upon the request of the President of WE to include the following: i. accounts information of the balance, receivables, and outgoing money ii. iii. any debt information membership fees and even fees collected and status of collection process iv. v. a final balance any other pertinent financial information
Article V: Office of the Administrative Director of WE
Section 1. Administrative Director is to be elected by a simple majority of the assembly of WE members for a term of one year.
Section 2. Administrative Director's powers and duties are as follows: a. to facilitate the communication between the President and WE members by: i. replying to incoming WE mail and e-mails in accordance with President's policies and the events taking place ii. communicating with new members and registering new members in the appropriate systems b. to take minutes of WE meetings
Article VI: Standing Coordinators of WE
Standing Coordinators are to be appointed as decided by the President at the beginning of the year for a term of one year. Specific offices of Standing Coordinators are to be decided by the President so as to facilitate the smooth running of the organization and to increase its efficiency. The removal of Standing Coordinators is at the discretion of the President of WE.
Article VII: Event Coordinators of WE
Event Coordinators are to be appointed by the Vice-President for a specific event or event-related tasks for the term of the lasting of the event. Event Coordinators are to facilitate the smooth running of the WE events and to help Vice-President with the implementation of WE activities. The removal of Event Coordinators is at the discretion of Vice-President or as advis...
