As a condition of entry, I (we) agree to abide by the rules and regulations on the reverse of this form and as published in the Premium Book. I (we) understand it is my (our) responsibility to be familiar with the rules and regulations, and specifically those relating to the rules on ownership, liability, drug testing, and the USDA Wholesome Meat Act. I (we) agree to immediately submit any animal entered to inspection, at any reasonable time, by a veterinarian or other expert appointed by 4-H, and agree to have such animal submitted to any tests as may be designated and requested by the veterinarian or expert. I understand that the animals I exhibit at 4-H shows including the Iowa State Fair 4-H Show, during the project year shall be among those listed and described below. I recognize my responsibilities for the feeding and care of these animals throughout the feeding period. I (we) agree to feed these animals in accordance with quality assurance guidelines. I (we) agree to allow the State and the County 4-H staff the right to inspect the listed projects at any reasonable time during the feeding period. I (we) agree to allow the use of the verification noseprints or DNA analysis to confirm the identity of these animals at any time. I (we) also agree that noseprints, DNA samples or other samples taken by any 4-H veterinarian or expert are property of the Iowa 4-H program. I (we) understand that failure to abide by the rules and regulations published in the Premium Book or the terms of this nomination/verification may result in forfeiture of all premiums, prizes, awards, rights, and privileges to exhibit livestock in the future at the county show and the Iowa State Fair, and may result in exclusion from participation in 4-H programs. To be eligible for a state or interstate show, a 4-Her must have completed fifth grade prior to the event unless a particular show is more restrictive. requires Ak-Sar-Ben that exhibitors be age 10 by January 1 prior to the show, AND must meet the requirements for exhibition as set by 4-H office in state of 4-H membership. 2. A 4-Her becomes ineligible to exhibit beyond the county level upon completion of the calendar year of high school graduation. Note: In the event that a 4-Her has dropped out of high school, the 4-Her is eligible to exhibit livestock only through the calendar year that his/her class graduated. Ownership All animals must be owned by and identified to the individual 4-Her. When registration papers are involved (e.g., purebred beef heifer), the papers must be either in the 4-Hers name or show a logical family relationship. Animals changing ownership after being identified as a project are ineligible to be exhibited as 4-H animals for that 4-H year. Animals offered for sale in an auction are considered to have changed ownership even though bought back by the original owner or if the owner refuses a bid or says, No Sale. The calfhood vaccination tattoo is not acceptable identification. Feeder calves are required to have eartags. (To exhibit feeder calves at Ak-Sar-Ben, please use official 4-H tags.) The animals birth date also must be listed. Animals identified as part of a 4-H project cannot also be identified or exhibited as an FFA project. Special note A 4-Her cannot identify a heifer as both a market heifer and a breeding heifer.
