Skorupinski Donna CUIN 6345 Focus Topic #5 Executive Summary Creating Lesson Plans on Excel / or other spreadsheet program Most lesson plan books are a series of boxes with labels that some one else created. Wouldn't you rather have a design made specifically to work with your situation, and that you could change if you thought of a better way? They are two lesson plan formats I have created for the teachers at my school. One I created when a teacher showed me her format that she created with a pen and ruler and copied. The other I created to do my lesson plans and several teachers have used it as a template for their own. If you are using a template all you have to do is open the template and go to File Save as type in the name for your lesson plan make sure it is saving it to a place you'll be able to find it and click save. The template will still be there in case you need it again, and you will have a working copy of your lesson plan. In my classes I teach the same thing to several different classes, at or least a variation of the same thing. I find it very handy to type in my plans and be able to copy and paste were applicable. In creating a lesson plan from scratch first you must decide what information you will have in each column and row. You can enter the row and column headings without worrying about the size of the cells; that you can do later. After you have the layout the way you want it you can decide how you will enter information. I do my lesson plans on the computer, some teachers print them out and write them by hand. By right clicking on a cell or a group of cells you can choose format c...
