2) Describe the physical conditions at the site at the time of your observations Day/Time: Temperature: Weather (cloud cover, precipitation): 3) On the reverse side, visually describe the general character of your site. Stand back and draw what you see this will primarily include vegetation (plants). Label your drawing with additional observations of what species like look and what they are doing. You do NOT need to know scientific names (neither did Lewis and Clark, or Darwin for that matter.) Focus on the dominant, common species, but also recall that single individuals can be very important to notice (the remnant Silphium in Aldo Leopolds graveyard that hundreds of thousands of motorists passed by).
