Myers Mrs. Classroom Rules Student Commitment In order for our classroom to be a pleasant place for you and all of your friends, we have some rules that must be followed. There are only a few rules so it will not take you long to memorize them. Please read the rules and ask your parents or me if you have any questions about any of them. Classroom Rules: 1. Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself. 2. Keep your eyes on the teacher while she is talking. 3. Be a good listener while others are talking. 4. Keep your area and our room neat and clean. 5. Follow directions the first time. Now that you have seen the rules, it is your job to follow them. When you decide to break the rules, there are consequences that you have decided to accept. If you decide to lose part or all of your recess privileges, you will spend the time that you owe to me walking around the yard. Please read the list below: Each student will begin each day on the green light. First offense, move your name pin to the yellow light. You have now been warned. Second offense, move your pin to the orange light. You now owe me 5 minutes of recess. Third offense, move your pin to the red light. You now owe me 10 minutes of recess. Fourth offense, move your pin to the phone call list. You owe me all of recess, and your parents will be called. Fifth offense, move your pin to the basket on my desk. You will go to the office and your parents will be called. *I reserve the right to send you to the office immediately for any severe disruptions. When you choose to follow the rules of the classroom there are some rewards that you and the rest of your friends will get to enjoy. They are listed below. Daily, students will have a chance to earn a sticker to put on their discipline chart. A sticker is earned for every day the student decides to stay on the green light. For every Page 1 of 3 Mrs. Myers Classroom Rules Student Commitment ten stickers the student earns, they get one chance to pick an object from the small prize box. Each student will have opportunities to earn chance cards to put in the bucket. Chance cards can be earned by good behavior in class, holding the door, helping a friend or anything else the sees teacher that should be rewarded. The student puts their name on the card and the card goes in the chance bucket. If the entire class behaves the entire class can get a card. Every Wednesday one student will pick two chance cards out and the chosen students can pick from the following prizes: Extra 15 minutes on the computer Be the Bingo caller during math Read out loud to the class Teacher's helper for the day Eat lunch with the teacher As a bonus, if a card is picked that has class on it, the entire class will get a ReadIn Party or Afternoon of Art and Music. The prizes can change from time to time so you are not limited to choices above. Approximately once a month we will pass all of the chance cards out to their owners. The two students with the highest number get to pick a special prize from the box. The box prizes include a free homework pass, 5 minutes extra recess with a friend or other similar prizes. If there are no red light offenses during the entire month, the class will be rewarded with a classroom party. These parties include, but are not limited to, PopCorn and Movie Block, ReadIn Party, Afternoon of Art and Music, and Book of the Month Party. Quarterly, we will schedule special adventure days in our classroom. These adventure days are a time to show the class what you have lear...
