Obtain historical data from a variety of sources, including: library and museum collections, historic sites, historical photos, journals, diaries, eyewitness accounts, newspapers, and the like; documentary films, oral testimony from living witnesses, censuses, tax records, city directories, statistical compilations, and economic indicators. 1 Basic operations and concepts Students demonstrate a sound understanding of the nature and operation of technology systems. Students are proficient in the use of technology. Student Objectives/ Learning Outcomes Procedures Activity Management Resource Integration Student Assessment Students will use and practice their knowledge on computer skills and use it to find information on the given unit Students are instructed to search on the net for historical information on the Greeks. While searching, students will also learn the appropriate way to search the net in order to not waste time. Questions will be given to the students in order for them to answer while searching. They will be finding everything they can about the Greeks. This is a 20 minutes session. Before starting, they will brainstorm a list of what they already know and what they want to know about the Greeks. That way, they will be more focus during internet searching. This activity will be located in the computer lab. The teacher will help them in the brainstorming process but will only be there to make sure the students are on the right track. The students will be paired up in teams in order to save time. Students along with teacher will search online using computer and put all the information found together. The questions given out will get picked up at the end of the class. There will also be an overview at the end of the searching activity. Students will voice their opinion on how productive the activity was and if they learn anything. There will also be opinion as to what site is resourceful for other students to go view. They will also be able to collect information from variety of sources. will already have a number of information they already found from the first activity. They will organize the information and find the major characteristics of the Greeks. There are given homework assignment where they will have to go to the library to check out books to give them more information. The students will have a final project in the end in their team that they will work on gradually. This is the first part of the final project and they will use the different programs on the computer to create presentation activity such as PowerPoint or slide shows. the other part of the class period will be in the classroom. Teacher is there to help the students and guide them in the right direction. The students are to work diligently on their project. as well as go online to find the type of information they need. They will also use different Microsoft software to work on their final project which will be present to the class. journal which they will write about their process, their opinion, and their advice on the project. The students will find the relationship the Greeks had with other societies during that time (similarities and differeneces). They will also learn to be creative using technology. productivity tools Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other creative In this activity, the students are to use what they had found before and what they are going to find out now in order to make their final presentation more richly elaborated. The students would first find out about other civilizations around the time of the ancient Greeks and do a compare and contrast paper on the two or more civilizations. When they are done with this paper, they will then add this onto their project. This will be the second addition or part in their project. Since the students already choose the type of presentation they will present, they will be ask to be creative in trying to make this part of the addition appealing to the audience and to promote learning among their peers. Majority of time for this activity will be at home work. The students are to work together in their teams at home when writing the paper. But there will be time set aside for them to go to the library and go to computer lab to work on their presentation or research. The teacher's role is to make sure that all students are where they are suppose to be and are working together cooperatively. The students are still using Microsoft programs but they are also using outside resources such as videos, books, magazines, etc. in order to attain more information. The students are to have a response entry in their journal where will they write their progress and explain what they are doing, then they will pass the entry to two other people who will give them advice and comments. The student is expected to: (A) identify institutions basic to all societies, The students main objective in this activity is to learn about what the Greeks contributed mathematically, socially, psychologically, scientifically, etc. The students are still adding more information and graphics or other media to their final projects. The students are to go out and find information on what they Greeks contributed to the world in the many areas such as mathematics, psychology, and many more. They are still using the internet to find information but they will also be doing something different which is find a professional in the many areas and interview them to get more information on the contribution and what the affects they have on us. The teacher is there for the students to ask questions. The teacher will first model for the students what she wants them to do in order for them not to get lost. Still using the various types of presentations, the students are also interviewing live people along with books in order to have every perpectives there are. The students are to turn in their references by the end of this activity in order to let the teacher knows where all the information are taken from. They are to evaluate all their information and write a reponse on what they think the Greeks are, how their lifestyles are, their major characteristics, and the impact they have on societies around them and how we are affected by it. The students also need to compare and contrast the Greeks and other civilizations explaining the advancement of the Greeks compare to others. Once done with the paper, they will put this in the end of their project. The students are to find one or two people The teacher will check over the stduents' projects to make sure that there is no one behind. Give them advice or comments in order to help them on their projects. The students are to make sure that their projects are steer in the right direction and make final touches to them to make it presentable. Students will have their viewers' comments on their presentation as a resource for them to make it better or any changes. Still, the students are using techonology as part of their project. The comments and advice given to the students are to be turned in to the teacher and the teacher will use that to assess the students's work. There will also be a private turn in from each student stating what they like and not like about the team work on the project.
