303 CEE -- Introduction to Remote Sensing Digital Image Processing Digital Image Processing Lab Assignment1 Fall 2006 This week's assignment in the laboratory is to become familiar with the computers in room 1253 AOSS and the WiscImg program. The first task for the week is to sign onto one of the computers. You will be given directions for signing onto the computers in the laboratory. In general, we will be using the local E drive during the lab, but you should backup all of your results to a floppy disk, a USB memory stick, or one of network drives when you are finished (after the first lab). You cannot expect anything saved to the local C drive to be there the next time to logon! In general, DO NOT USE the C drive! Although the computers are very reliable, you should always save a backup copy of your work on a floppy or USB memory stick. Data can be lost from a hard drive. The program we be will using during the class is called WISCIMG. The program WiscImg should be on the desktop. We will be using a number of different images for analysis. The image we will be using this week is SPTM.LAN. This is a three band image from the SPOT satellite over a portion of Madison. It can be found on our course home page under Images.
