The major technologies covered include Decision Support Systems (DSS), Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS), Artificial Intelligence Techniques and other decision making issues. Fundamental concepts and techniques in constructing such systems will be discussed. Reading Material There is a course textbook as well as a number of articles or chapters in other books. The textbook is: Turban, E. & Aronson, J. "Decision Support Systems and Intelligent Systems" Prentice Hall 1998. Other reading assignments will be identified in the class. Assessment of Learning The course grade is assigned based on the student performance in three activities: Activity Paper Presentation Due Participation Date Last Day of Class Last Day of Class Percent of Final 50 25 25 The paper is a graduate level group paper that deals with the development of a specific MSS to support management decision making in a specific domain. The instructor will discuss with each group the paper topic. The size of the group depends on the number of students in the class, and will be determined on the first day of class. The paper (30 pages approximately) is due on the last week of class, and should use an acceptable academic writing style and format. The paper should be submitted in printed and digital format.
