Upon completion of this course, the student will be knowledgeable in: 1. applying the concepts related to the time value of money in analyzing economic attractiveness 2. applying various analysis techniques to determine the most attractive economic options in both private and public sectors 3. incorporating the impact of depreciation, taxes, and inflation on economic analysis Required Text: Engineering Economic Analysis, 9-th Edition, Newnan, Eschenbach, and Lavelle, Engineering Press, 2004 Grading Policy: 3 Tests at 20 % each = 60% In Class Recitation = 20% Final Examination = 20%. Homework will not be taken up. Students are encouraged to seek help, if required, from the instructor. No make up test will be given for abstaining from a scheduled test. Attendance Policy: Regular attendance is highly encouraged. Students are responsible, despite absences, for all material covered in class. Accommodations for Disabilities Students a with disability requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Disability Services (ODS). An Accommodation Request (AR) should be completed as soon as possible, preferably by the end of the first week of the course.
