04 Diffusione Project dello Scomparto MAGAZINE S P R E A D Purpose of the Assignment Project 04 provides students with the opportunity to showcase all of the technical and creative know-how that they have acquired in this class. Employing their organizational and stylistic decision-making skills, students combine their technical expertise of using Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Students are expected to produce InDesign page compositions in a manner that results in visually compelling and creative Final Design Layouts, worthy of portfolio status. Design Objective To wordsmith meaningful and compelling headlines; To generate and sketch out multiple editorial-spread layout solutions; To possess (at the end of this project) a professional quality InDesign file, as well as a printed version of the editorial-spread layout; To produce a portfolio-quality color print: horizontally oriented, 11 x 17 in size; Design Outcome Write a headline appropriate to a provided subject matter; Demonstrate an ability to communicate design concepts through sketches; Transfer sketch concepts to successful page-layout using InDesign; Step-by-step Description of the Project 1. Read and examine carefully each of the three (3) groups of provided content to understand the issues in them. Select one (1) group that you find most appropriate for your project. 2. in Write your journal three (3) possible headlines that sum up in short phrases the gist of the article you have chosen for your project. 3. Select one (1) headline that appears to have the best linguistic texture and the most engaging meaning. 4. Start the preliminary blocking (grid) process: Sketch out twenty-four (24) horizontally oriented page layout plans in your journal. Make all of them horizontally oriented and about 2x3 in size. Use pen and/or pencil. Work rapidly to finish all twenty-four (24) sketches within an hour. Work prominently by free hand, but you may also use rectangular templates to speed up your planning process. Select six (6) grids from the original twenty-four (24) and develop them more fully in your journal within an hour. (This means that you are not to spend more than 10 minu...
