Metropolitan King County Council The Metropolitan King County Council is the legislative branch of county government. It adopts laws, sets policies and hold final approval over the budget. There are 13 Council members represent geographic districts.1 The county executive is not a member of the council, and the council does elect a chair and vice chair annually.
