(25 points) Answer one. Two will appear on the test. 1. What are the social and ethical problems related to privacy in the context of digital technologies and pervasive networks? Are these problems solved by laws that require information collectors to ask data subjects for consent? Use examples such as employee background checks, customer information, genetic screening, and any others that are appropriate. Be sure to make reference to appropriate readings (Mason, Marx, etc.) 2. Explain the impact of globalization in relation to at least two of the areas listed below. Describe the role of information technology in this process and the nature of the social, economic and political changes that we are beginning to witness. Analyze the following comments: "Strengthened laws and technologies for the protection of copyright are absolutely necessary today. Such measures are in the public interest because they will benefit everyone.
