312 H Paper Guidelines Select a specific global public health issue related to HIV/AIDS that you are interested in researching; it can be a topic that is in the book or one that you have read/heard about Your paper should include the following four sections: i. ii. iii. iv. An Introduction to the topic (scope of the problem, why is it a global public health issue/concern, provide statistics, etc) Global example (population, country, region, etc) that is dealing with the topic in some way Solutions/Interventions: what is being done? (government, NGO's, policies, programs, etc) Conclusions/ Critical analysis of what you think about the global public health issue, incorporating your sources, and knowledge from the class, SUPPORT your ideas and thoughts with sources. The paper should be approximately 4-6 pages (not counting Title page and Bibliography page), double-spaced, 12 font, 1" margins, using proper grammar and spelling, citing your sources throughout the paper. will You use APA format for your paper. The following link provides helpful information on APA writing style: http://www.calstatela.edu/library/guides/3apa.pdf You must use a minimum of 4 professional sources, (professional websites, academic journals, books, other professional sources such as government documents), you have to use at least 2 different types of sources, and they can't be all one type of source. Make sure internet sources are professional and legitimate (edu, gov, be careful of .com's and .org's), if you are not certain about your source, check with me to get it approved. Suggested Topics Include: HIV/AIDS and drug use HIV/AIDS and orphans HIV/AIDS and women HIV/AIDS and sex workers HIV/AIDS and mother-to-child transmission HIV/AIDS and treatment HIV/AIDS and prisoners HIV/AIDS and a specific country HIV/AIDS and men having sex with men (MSM) *These are only suggestions, if you have another topic, you can certainly chose a topic not listed above.
