Thischurchlastedquitealongtime.Finally,in1968anewmorecontemporary churchwasbuilt.Thisisthechurchthatstillstandstoday. Childrensneedsareindeedaddressedatthischurch.SaintPaulsoffersreligious educationclasses,andalsohasaCatholicschooldowntheroadfromthechurchcalled TrinityCatholicSchool.Ihadtheopportunitytositin onachurchschoolclass.Thiswas aclassoffirstgraders,whichwastaughtbyAnneMorgan,whoisparishioneratSaint Pauls.InthisclassthestudentslearnedaboutSaintPatrick,andwhathedidforthe Catholiccommunity.Thestudentswatchedamovieabouthim,andalsoreadthroughan IrishBlessing.ClasseslikethisoccureveryweekandleadthestudentstoFirst CommunionandConfirmation.TheTrinityCatholicSchoolhostsstudentsfrom Kindergartentosixthgrades.Aswellasnormalschooling,thestudentsatTrinity CatholicSchool alsoreceivereligiousteachings.Belowaresomephotographsofthe pastoratthischurch.FatherEricofficiatesanddoestheactualsermon,butothersareable TrinityCatholicSchool,andphotographsofthechurchschoolclassroomIattended. IntheserviceitselfatSaintPaulsthePriestisincharge.FatherEricHareristhe todoreadings,orhelpinthegivingoftheEucharist.Theroleofwomenisequalinthis church.Thewomenoftheparishareasabletodothingsequallyasthemen.Themusic inthechurchistypicalhymnsforaCatholicchurch.Thereisachoirwithapianist,and sometimesothermusiciansplayinginstrumentsliketrumpetorflute.Therealsoisa famousorganthatisplayedduringmass.Thecongregationisencouragedtosingalong withallthemusic. AtthemassinwhichIattendedthepriestshomilywasonthetopicoftheups anddownsofapersonsfaith,andlife.Thepriestusedthemetaphorofarollercoasterto describehowonesfaithcanriseandfallduringalifetime.Asfarashandclapping, prostrations,andspeakingintonguestherearenone.But,whenattendinganEasterVigil masstherewasawaterritual.Thepriestsprinkledholywaterovereveryoneatthemass. Thiswastopurifyus.AlsoattheEasterVigil,thepriestbaptized,presentedthefirst communion,andconfirmedthreenewmembersintothechurch. SaintPaulschurchhasmanyactivitiesfortheparishionersaswellastherestof thecommunity.EverySundaynighttheyholdBINGO.Thisisverypopularamongthe elderlyandisbecomingpopularwiththeteensandyoungerchildren.Also,everyyearthe churchholdsaLockdown.StudentsfromtheareaenjoyanightlockedintheTrinity CatholicSchoolwithfunactivitiessuchaskaraokeanddancing.Then,atmidnightthe studentswalktothechurchtorecitethe12StationsoftheCross.Itisveryfun experience.Manyotheractivitiesarise...
