College Axia Material Appendix D Contingency Theory of Leadership Description of work environment A sweet potato plant where they manufacture sweet potato fries. Overall a very good work environment, most of the people get along well. In the table below, categorize different leadership approaches that could be used in the work environment you have described. Provide different suggestions for each of the four approaches to leadership. Directive approach Supportive approach The manager tells the employees what to do by giving them guidance, training, clear work schedule and maintains performance standards. Being friend and approachable, showing concern and a need for the employees, treating other workers as equals, acting in a non-threatening way. Participative approach Achievement-oriented approach Involving employees in a work scheduling, encourages suggestion and consulting with employees, putting employees suggestions into action, encourages proactive work behaviors. Setting challenging goals, emphasizing the need to behave proactively and perform at the highest level, demonstrating confidence in employees, providing employees with autonomy and freedom to decide how to perform their jobs. Leadership recommendation A combination of all four approaches would likely be the most beneficial. Leadership is necessary in order to have boundaries and ground rules. Directive approach because it is necessary when hiring personnel quality and maintaining a positive reputation. Supportive approach is necessary to maintain good employees and their fulfillment of their jobs. Participation approach is beneficial to make your employees feel like they are making a contribution to the company. Achievement oriented approach because it helps to keep the BUS 210 employees happy with their job. BUS 210 CERTI FI CATEOFORI GI NALI TY I cert ifyt hat t heat t ached paperism yor iginalwork.
