Treatment approaches that teach people to think in more adaptive ways by changing their dysfunctional perceptions about the world and themselves. Patients learn to contest their expectations and learn new habits to old problems. Teaches new skills on how to solve conflicts or problems instead of old ways that were dysfunctional.
