Dreadnought was created.

1850-64. Religious cults arose in China. The
revolt started by Hong Xiuchuan. He spread
religion. Everyone wanted to get rid of the
old. "heavenly kingdom of eternal peace".
The poor were anger. Then famine, oods
and crop failure and 2nd Opium war broke
out. Brit gave Chinese weapons to put down
the revolt. 25 million died.

1906- British 18 in torpedo tubes. Jackie
Fisher built this. This ship was innovatice,
makes all ships obsolete. Powered by
turbines, hard to build, powerful some engine
powered by oil some by coal.
Balkan Wars 1913-14

1905. General Togo- Japanese slaughter the
Russian army and navy. He created the
crossed T method of attack. One of the rst
times a non-white country defeated a white
country. In Russo-Japese Wary 1904-5.
Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece gang up on
Ottoman empire and win. Big powers didn't
want these countries to have power. Bulgaria
attack Serbia (2nd Balk war) over land. Serb
and Greece attack Bulgaria. Big powers say
that Albania is indpen so Balkan states stop
arguing.
