Description Paragraph
Length and Format: Your paragraph should contain between seven and fifteen
sentences.
In a descriptive paragraph, you use description to enable readers to see what you see,
hear what you hear, smell what you smell, taste what you taste, and feel what you feel.
Details in a descriptive paragraph are usually arranged in spatial order and create a single
dominant impression a mood or feeling you want to communicate to readers. In
general, there are two kinds of descriptive paragraphs: objective and subjective. Writers
use objective description to describe something without conveying their own emotions or
opinions. Subjective description is used to convey the writers and feelings opinions but
still contains precise language and specific details, just as objective descriptions do.
Finally, your descriptive paragraph should paint a word-picture.
Choose a topic sentence that reflects a dominant impression

Use words that describe: instead of the snake moved, use the snake wiggled or
slithered
Use transitional expressions
Conclude your paragraph
