- CAP5510 Bioinformatics Fall 2011, Project - Milestone Due date: 10 / 12 / 2011 (11:59 PM) August 15, 2011 Class project contributes the largest percentage to your overall grade. Therefore, it is essential that you put sucient eort in your project. As your rst milestone in the class project, you will prepare a project page. This project page will be your project proposal. This milestone will constitute 5 % of the project grade. Each project group needs to prepare only one web page. This web page will contain the following: Project title. Team members names. A brief (5-10 sentences) abstract of the project which describes what you aim to do in your project. A brief itemized plan of action. This plan will discuss what specic steps you are planning to take to achieve the aim you stated in the abstract, such as What will you implement? methods What are you going to compare and how will you get them? Which datasets are you going to use and where will you get them from (links if possible)? What kind of experiment will you run and what will you measure (e.g., time, score, p-value etc). Planned workload distribution to team member. You need this item only if you are teaming up with others. List of papers you have (will) read for this project. You will upload a simple text le that contains the link to the project page on the Sakai. One upload per project is sucient. So, if you have multiple team members, you do not need to upload it multiple times. Also, return a printout of this proposal to me in class on the next class hour after the due date. Important: The project presentations will start after November 13, 2011. So, you should make an early start on the project. 2
