Unit 1 Initial Post
In the next five years I am hoping to have my Bachelors Degree in Accounting and to own my
own little Accounting Firm or Tax Office. I would also like to be able to have either a better job
or career so I will not longer have to worry about how my bills are going to be paid.
Within in the next five years I should have all the skills that I need to be able to run my own
business and even have employees if I choose to hire any. By that time I should also have my
License to be a Certified Public Accountant.
What will be necessary for me to get CPA my license is complete 150 semester hours or 225
quarter hours of college education. I will need to obtain a baccalaureate or higher degree. Also I
will need to complete 24 semester hours in accounting subjects. 15 semester hours must be at the
upper level or graduate level, and 24 semester hours in business administration subjects at the
undergraduate or graduate level. To be able to get your first CPA License I must first pass the
CPA examination. Before applying for your license I need to complete the AICPA self-study
course with a score of 90% or better. That is a Professional Ethics Comprehensive Course.
