They both have a higher cost for out-of-network providers. The difference between these two plans is that the PPO will have discounted on the fees, does not required a referral and required preauthorization for some procedures. The POS has a lower copayment when it is within their network and required a primary care physician manages care. The Consumer-Driven Health Plan is similar to the PPO plan but have a savings account attached to the plan of which the patient paid all services until their deductible met. is The Indemnity plan offers patients the choice of seeing any providers with little or none cost of containment but have a higher cost of premium with deductibles and coinsurance as well and preventive care are not usually covered. The last plan is the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). This plan has a low copayment but limited provider network. Required a primary care physician and required preauthorization but have no payment for out-of-network nonemergency services. I guess that there are more differences than similarities in these major types of health plans but they do have one major similarities and that is to benefits the plan holder. I stated this because I believed that none of these plan offers a greater financial or coverage benefits to either the provider or a consumer. These plans are only benefits the plan holders.
