Charette Matthew Prof. Rosenthal PHED 318 02/18/08 Free play is an important time to grow and step outside reality. As a youth it provides a stage where relationships are made and maintained. It allows kids to use their creativity and develop their imagination and strengths. Kids can experience situations and can be given the opportunity to make decisions and be forced to understand consequences even on a minor level. Children should experience less structured like activities playing tee-ball in the back yard without coaches. For adults free play is a way to separate from reality, their lives, and their jobs. Playing a simple game of pick-up basketball a couple times a week could help reduce stress. Stress of life is sometimes overwhelming and begins to negatively affect many aspects of a person's life. Free play can be a release method to let out pent up aggression or to just revel in simplicity and relaxation
