Millions of decisions went into the creation, organization and distribution of these products. How does it happen? And, the perhaps more important question, why? The objective of this course is to provide you with a thorough understanding of the international economy. In order to meet this objective, you will develop economic modeling skills to explain why nations trade and the effects of free and restricted trade policies. You will gain insight into the strategic implications of international trade and international politics. Finally, you will understand the foreign exchange market and the implications of international monetary policy. Economics 430 supports the Doermer School of Business learning objectives through the development of analytical skills for understanding the international environment in which firms and individuals operate and preparation for lifelong learning through the ability to apply abstract concepts.
