The course is devoted to a comprehensive review of transcription guidelines, such as language arts, word usage, punctuation, capitalization of titles, and formatting. The course also reviews and further develops the student's shorthand dictation speed and production of mailable letters, articles, minutes and technical material using computers. Specialization in business and technical vocabulary in a variety of formats, with continued refinement of the student's shorthand dictation and transcription abilities beyond the skill levels that are required for entry level employment. The course is separated into 4 parts. Each part is four weeks in duration covering a minimum of 10 lessons. The prerequisite for 246 is 239, 247 is 246, 248 is 247, and 249 is 248. SHORTHAND III EXPERT TRANSCRIPTION PART 4 OFA 249: The fourth four weeks is devoted to presenting lessons 31 40. Intensive shorthand speed building in dictation and the development of the ability to transcribe rapidly and accurately from 90 to 110 wpm for three minutes with at least 95% transcription accuracy using computers in the Model Office. Continued development of office style dictation and transcription is also emphasized.
