Course Hero Mentors Students at HackingEDU Hackathon

Course Hero was proud to help sponsor and provide mentorship for HackingEDU, the world’s largest student-run hackathon focused on education technology. Catch a glimpse of some of the projects and highlights.

This past weekend, Course Hero was happy to help sponsor HackingEDU, the world’s largest student-run hackathon focused on education technology. Not only was it perfectly aligned with our own goals, but it was also right in our backyard in San Mateo, CA.

Course Hero attended with several engineers to mentor students on projects, as well as our recruiting team to talk with interested students about opportunities at our company.

The winning hack, Swift Tutor, was a slick app for quickly connecting with someone to help you study. One of my personal favorites was Foo Blox, perhaps because it reminded me of my former research days in tangible computing. There were tons of other interesting projects and great energy throughout the event!

Tony Conrad of about.me kicked off his keynote by throwing gifts into the crowd:

The finalists await decisions on prizes:

And at the very end, as the students piled into cars, buses, trains, and planes to return home, a perfect full moon rose over the emptying parking lot.

We hope to see everyone again soon!
