LETTER OF PROMULGATION 1 September 2005 1. The Regimental Manual for the Corps of Cadets, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, is hereby promulgated. 2. This Regimental Manual supersedes all other documents of a similar nature and shall be considered official and binding on the Corps of Cadets. 3. All subsequent changes to this manual shall be issued as consecutively numbered amendments, and will be entered and recorded on the Record of Changes included herein. CHANGES TO THE CADET REGIMENTAL MANUAL August 2005 1. Table of Contents a. Chapter 3 (Cadet Reporting System) re-titled “Rules and Regulations.” b. Chapters 13 (Forms and Reports) and 14 (Uniform and Room Diagrams) have been deleted and the forms, reports and diagrams previously found within have been incorporated into the appropriate chapters. 2. Chapter 1 (Regimental Organization) a. 1-400: Stripes updated to reflect current rank status. b. 1-506: Updated description of the Regimental Ops. Officer. c. 1-513: Updated description of the Asst. Regimental Ops. Officer. 3. Chapter 2 (Orders to the Cadet Watch) a. 2-102: Mission of the Cadet Watch System (new) as developed by Capt. Bushy. b. 2-103: Objectives of the Cadet Watch System (new) as developed by Capt. Bushy. c. 2-105: Watch Structure (new) – describes the Watch Structure chain-of-command. d. 2-201: Formal Posting of the Watch (new) – reflects change in procedure implemented in September 2004. e. All Watch billets: Added uniform requirements under “General” heading. f. All Watch billets: Added mustering procedures under “Assumption of Watch” heading. g. 2-502: Added procedure for checking phones for messages. h. 2-800: Renamed Cadet Bridge Watch as “Cadet Junior Officer of the Watch.” Reassigned this billet to the 2/C. i. 2-900: New Billet – Cadet Boatswains Mate of the Watch (shipboard). Assigned this billet to the 3/C. j. 2-1000: Renamed the Detex billet as “Cadet Security Roving Watch.” k. 2-1200: New Billet –Cadet Assistant Engineer of the Watch (shipboard). Assigned this billet to the 2/C. l. 2-1400: New Billet – Cadet Wiper (shipboard). Assigned this billet to the 4/C. m. Deleted – Two Supernumerary Billets n. 2-1502 – Emergency Procedures o. 2-500: Deleted section. All Billets orders and responsibilities enumerated in order on chain-of- command. p. 2-503: Deleted and moved to 6-403. 4. Chapter 3 (Rules and Regulations) a. 3-204-B-1: Correction –Class III restriction is 0 days (see also 3-208-A). b. 3-205-C-3-a: Intentional Failure to properly perform (to include failing to relieve the watch) is now a Class I. c. 3-211-C-2 and 3: Wording deleted. “Enrollment Warning Limit” deleted. d.
