SUMMARY (PROPOSAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT)Product Introduction & Background of productThe product produced are specifically for the students in primary school.Healthyeating by primary school-aged children is important for good health and development.Schools can play an important role in the education and promotion of healthy eatingamong children.Kids learn better eating habits when schools provide healthy foods.Schoolmeals include milk, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, and they provide keynutrients like calcium and fiber. As students return to school in person or do virtuallearning from home, schools may be using a variety of methods to ensure studentshave access to nutritious meals.The menu that has been planned is a complete setmenu for lunch which consists of appetizer, main course, dessert and drink. This lunchmenu set is reserved for children aged 8 - 12 and needs 1600-2000 calories per day.This planned menu set amounting to 1082 kcal which is includes appetizer, maincourse, dessert and drink.List of the menu of product development :1. Appetizer : Chicken sandwich and cheese (162 kcal)2. Main course : Meatball spaghetti bolognese (710 kcal)3. Dessert :Mango pudding (30 kcal)4. Drink : Chocolate milk (180 kcal)
DEVELOPMENT CONCEPTTo develop new food products, the team must plan ahead of time, work diligently, andperform extensive research over a long period of time. .It requires more thanoptimizing a recipe to develop a food product. Our new food product developmentaims to increase profits and market share. The first step in this process is to have abrainstorming session with our group members. We focus creative thinking whencoming up with new food concepts. We modified an existing food product to make itmore nutritious and delicious for primary school. We also use the kitchen's ingredientsand equipment to create product development concepts. That way, we can test andevaluate ideas from the very beginning. To make the right meal choices, we first studyand research what foods should be consumed and which foods should be avoided byprimary school students in order to maintain a safe and balanced diet.
