If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff Illustrated by Felicia Bond (Grades K-1) Annotation If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff and Illustrated by Felicia Bond is a story about a boy who gives a mouse a cookie and the consequences that went with it. After giving the mouse a cookie he makes a request for milk and continuously asks to do more and more activities like clean, sleep, color, and cut his hair. By the end of the story the mouse is thirsty and wants milk and needs a cookie to go with it. Vocabulary terms For probably, trim, notice, and comfortable I would use a word line so they can associate those words with words they may already know. For napkin, washing, and refrigerator I would use pictures so that the students would recognize what the word meant and giving it more meaning.
