March 5, 2008 1. Multi v. inter v. trans-disciplinary evaluation: a. Multi: who assesses the child are doing it individually and based on their training (from different disciplinary) OT doesn’t cross into PT, etc. Most basic way of doing an evaluation. See through a very narrow focus. b. Inter: Disciplines work together to become an evaluation. Play off of each other to compare notes and feed off of one another. Can pick up something that they might miss. c. Trans: rather than professionals run the process the family is the hub of the evaluation. Looking at the family not just the child. How does the child focus in different places and beyond individual disciplines. Long and in depth. 2. IEE: Independent Educational Evaluation- going outside of the school district, private provider. Most of psychology is outside of school but you can get an independent evaluation for everything. IDEA recognizes parents may not always agree with district. Getting a second opinion.
