March 31, 2008 The Writing Process Rubric for PA writing assessment domain scoring guide : Focus, content, organization, style, and conventions (punctuation, commas, spelling, quotation marks, etc.) The writing process : Prewriting (look for ideas), drafting (getting your ideas down quickly), revising/ peer conferencing (making content changes, sharing), editing/ teacher conferencing (mini lesson, making corrections in grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling), final product (publishing center, bulletin board, class book), evaluation (assessment guides). How to implement the writing process Prewriting - make a list, make a web, brainstorm, and draw, read a story, interview someone. GET YOUR IDEAS ON PAPER! Drafting - first writing, get more ideas on the paper, write on one side of the paper, skip lines to make corrections, don’t worry about making corrections. Revising - cross out, cut and paste, add information, re-sequence, write a new beginning or end, change point of view. Conferencing
