UNICEF Presentation Good Morning! Thank you for attending our presentation on UNICEF. My name is Michelle Cinciripino. My name is Caitlin Wright. Today we are going to tell you about UNICEF and how you can incorporate it into your classroom. First we are going to tell you a little about the UNICEF organization. UNICEF stands for United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. UNICEF was established in December of 1946 by the United Nations. It was first created to help the children in post war in Europe and China. In 1950 its mission was changed to help deal with the long term needs of women and children in developing countries everywhere. In 1953 UNICEF became a permanent part of the United Nations and its name was shortened to United Nations Children’s Fund. UNICEF now works in over 150 countries to help save children through immunization, education, health care, nutrition, clean water and sanitation. The life saving programs that UNICEF provides are funded entirely by volunteer contributions from people like us.
