Millersville University English Composition Dr. Farkas Major Paper Assignments Overview of Assignments Over the course of the semester, students will write five major papers. The first four papers will be based on the course textbook, and the final paper, the reflective paper, will be based on all of the work completed over the semester. Description of Papers 1-4: The first four papers that students write for the course will be written in three different communities of writing: the academic community, the work community, and the public community. The papers will be written in the following order: Paper 1: academic community Paper 2: work community Paper 3: public community Paper 4: choice of community For the first paper, students will write in the academic community; for the second, students will write in the work community; for the third paper, students will write in the public community; and for the fourth paper, students may choose the community in which they write. Before writing each paper, students will read selections about these three communities to learn about their values, assumptions, and concerns, and students will also study and find examples from both students and professionals writing within these three communities to discover different ways of writing. Finally, students will enter into the conversations of these communities and gain experience writing in these three different contexts.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
