Art 303 Secondary Lesson Plan Lesson Plan Title: Abstract Flowers with Georgia O’Keeffe Grade Level: 12 th grade A. Goals: Goal 1: Historical, Cultural, and Social Contexts Goal 2: Creative Expression and Communication B. Objectives: The learner will: Apply knowledge of art history in oral discussion about selected works of Georgia O’Keeffe’s art. Describe the use of technology as a visual art medium using computer generated examples that they’ve created themselves. Focus on the elements and principles of art and design, especially the art element of color, when creating their own abstraction to convey their own personal meaning. Demonstrate skill, imagination, and in-depth understanding of media and processes working with the computer program. C. Evaluation: Students will create their own project with the use of technology as a visual art medium, demonstrating knowledge that they can create their own examples of computer-generated art. (Content Standard: Historical, Cultural, and Social Contexts – Grade 12, #3) Students will have demonstrated the use of elements and principles of art and design, especially the use of color, in the creation of their own abstracted flower.
