ART 303 Primary Lesson Plan Grade Level: 2nd grade Project: Fish Pattern Watercolor Crayon Resist Motivation : Show the students a PowerPoint of different images of fish with many colors and patterns. Have them imagine they are under the sea and are swimming around seeing these fish up close. Discuss the different types of lines and how they are repeated to create the different patterns. Examples can also be drawn on the board of basic fish shapes to help students get started drawing their own fish in crayon. Materials : Watercolors Crayons White paper (any size, 8.5”x10” works well) Brushes Water cups Newspaper (if tables need to be covered) PowerPoint of images of different kinds of fish Procedure : 1. Each student is given his/her own sheet of paper, in which to draw different patterned fish with the crayons. Students are encouraged to draw as many fish as they want, as well as choosing how large and different colors. 2.
