Introduction : X-ray diffraction is a non-destructive technique widely used for the characterization of crystalline materials. Various kinds of micros and nano- crystalline materials can be characterized from X-ray powder diffraction. This method is used for phase identification, determination of crystal structure and the determination of structure imperfections . Objectives : To know the use of the x-ray diffraction in the study of metals belonging to the cubic system of crystal structure . To calculate lattice constant and identify the examined metals . Procedure : The machine used for this experiment is the powder diffractometer D8 Advance X-ray instrument.  This machine is connected to a computer with a control and recording units used to conduct the experiment and prepare data files for post –processing. The machine rotate the speciment in an angle   and θ the x-ray source 2 . The reflected x-ray are collected by a detector

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
