Central Idea: I will inform the audience about the city of Dubai, and mainly share my own personal experiences. INTRODUCTION I) I would like to begin my presentation today by asking how many of you have heard of the city of Dubai? How many of you can located it on a map? For many of you, Dubai is a distant thought, or just somewhere you may have caught a glimpse of on the travel channel. Although for me it is a lot more. It is my birthplace and favorite vacation spot among many other things. II) Dubai is one of the 7 states that make up the U.A.E., which is a country founded on 1971 as a result of a treaty between Britain and several Arab Sheiks (Arab word for king). Dubai is highly prosperous and rich in natural resources, which explain its massive booms of industrialization, and luxurious lifestyles it

A) Since I moved to the U.S. from Dubai in 1994, I have visited 5 times. And every time I go, it never ceases to amaze me how much more has been built and changed. The population has more than doubled, and become increasingly diverse, with only 15% of the population being citizens. i) Some of that is caused by the level of difficultly to gain citizenship, ii) and another reason is the number of laborers that come over looking for work.
