EFFECTS OF GLOBALIZATION ON CULTURE 2 Globalization is a process where people meet and interact around the world. People interact mostly during trade, adventure, and even learning. It has increased lately due to advanced technology, communication, and transport facilities. The transport facilities are telecommunication, jet engine, steamship, mobile phones, and internet. On the other hand, culture is a way of life of a group of people. Culture determines the values, behaviors, and beliefs of a group of people. It is passed from one generation to another through communication. Globalization has negative and positive influences on culture, and his document aims at discussing the impacts of globalization on cultures around the world. Globalization impacts negatively on cultural rights and intellectual property. This includes cultural artifacts, songs, dances, rituals, and cultural signs. Causes further colonization of people since they are unable to exercise their cultures. Cleveland et al. suggest that the internet and communication have enabled people to access the cultures of different groups of people. This can be considered as property debts and crimes against communities. Moreover, it is very difficult to control the internet, and other people tend to criticize cultures, and it gets difficult to prosecute them (Pieterse 2019). The impact causes stereotyping and the loss of cultures among different communities, which causes vices among people due to negligence.
