The interest was in how peoples minds worked and how they viewed the world.At first it was believed that psychology was only testing the mentally unstable but as timeprogressed people come around to the idea of recognizing it as a science once theyadapted the scientific method and were are to do tests and show data that could berepeated over and over again.Question 3 - What do we mean when we say “Psychology has a long past but a shorthistory?”Psychology has always existed because it is the reasoning for why we live our lives theway that we do. However, it took a lot of time to come up with the theories, test them,and come up with the curriculum to define it as a science/discipline. So in the statement,“psychology has a long past but a short history” it is referring to how long psychologyhas been around but how short of a time it has been recognized as an importanttopic/study.Questions 4 – What did Weber and Fechner do?What did they show, ordemonstrate?Fechner is said to be the founder of psychophysics. Psychophysics is relationshipbetween physical change and psychological change.He tested the theory that sensationand intensity work hand in hand and affect one another. He was the first scientist to runtest on human perception. Weber tested the relationship between the physical aspect andthe psychological aspect of stimuli. He wanted to find the perceptual limit.
