This situation is challenging for the judge because there is no national legislation that protects children from secondhand smoke while also from involuntary exposure such as a home, where the child most likely has the most subjection. The father who presented the case to the judge is in suitable measures from a morality perspective because he was in the best interest of his son’s health. According to “Ethical Choices,” “The right to liberty gives each person full control over their own personal domains, free from any control by others. Thus, all must enjoy equal liberty” (Burnor 200-201).
