1 bus 670 week 1 discussion 1 The fourth amendment of the United States Constitution states, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized" (Seaquist, 2012, Appendix A). Basically for a business this means there has to be a valid or reasonable reason to look at an employee’s computer, or a company’s documents, or other things associated with that business. Basically the fourth Amendment protects a person/company’s privacy. This amendment protects the company because it can only be searched if there is reasonable cause to do so. An OSHA inspector entered a plumbing business unannounced and without warrant. When taken to court this was found to be a violation of the
